The eagle has landed..with the two eaglettes
BZ and the boys are in MS...still haven't made the almost two hour drive home, but they're on the ground at least! He called from the airport to let me know they made it, late, but they made it. As we're talking, he's getting on to stepson number two (SS2), telling him to get off the luggage carousel. :) Let the fun begin...
BZ sounded whooped!! But then again, he should be. He flew out of Jax yesterday at 6 (hour delay), got to Detroit at 9 eastern time, drove to his parents' house and got there about 12:45 a.m. He had to get up this morning and get the kids by 7 to drive back to Detroit and catch their flight by noon. Luckily the border crossing at the bridge was not busy at all. We've sat there before for close to 30 minutes. No fun!! They flew out of Detroit to Memphis and had about an hour and a half layover during which they were trying to find a place to eat that wasn't crowded. Hello?!?! You're traveling on a holiday weekend and landed in Memphis at one...that's still officially lunch time, darlin'! They were late leaving Memphis and finally got to Jax at 4:15 or so. BZ said they sat for 20 minutes on the runway waiting on the ground crew to guide them in. Pissy. And now he's got that almost two-hour drive. I'm whooped just writing about it!!
BZ said that stepson number one (SS1) is letting his hair grow because his friend Matt is letting his grow. Can't wait to see this. My nephews are doing the same thing. I would love to be able to wear mine short, short and not be called Butch, but at this weight, it ain't happenin'!!
I've got pork chops marinating for the grill and also found a grilled pineapple recipe that I'm going to try. You marinate pineapple in melted butter mixed with a little honey and hot sauce. The reviews were all favorable so I'll give it a shot. Hell, it's only fruit. But mess with my starches, that's a whole different story!!
I just got my most dreaded appeal notice in the mail...the capital murder trial we did last September. It lasted six days, plus one extra day before the trial ever started for a motion hearing. I don't even want to guess as to how many pages.
I'm ready for the guys to get in. It will be nice since BZ will have the next two days off to recover and spend time with the kids. Molson's laid out in the bedroom...he has NO clue what's about to hit this house!! :)
